Volunteering
The staff of the museum is small, but our plans are
extensive. To help achieve our goals we rely extensively
on volunteers. Are you 16 or older, have a desire to help
and a little spare time? We may have some tasks for you.
Are you artistic? We need people with good drawing skills
to help improve our exhibits. Are you interested in what
goes on in research? We have a variety of tasks to
accomplish in the scientific collection; from cataloging
to specimen preparation. Are you a good writer with some
biology background? We are currently looking for someone
interested in developing a self-guided tour
handout.
Volunteering will give you the opportunity to explore the
world of scientific research, and the chance to share the
natural world with museum visitors. It is an experience
that you will always remember --and would be very helpful
to us. If this sounds like something in which you would
like to participate, please e-mail us or call (509)
335-3515.
Endowment
The Conner Museum is funded through WSU's College of
Science and the State of Washington. This funding
provides the basics, but to expand our programs and
activities we rely on contributions from interested and
involved citizens. With such contributions we have
established an endowment which we hope will grow to
provide additional support for museum programs. The
generous donations of past supporters have enabled us to
continually improve our exhibits and collections. With
your support we can expand our efforts to provide quality
outreach programs for area youth and create improved
educational displays. We believe in the importance of
science education and wish to supply the best possible
setting. Your donation, no matter how small, would
empower our efforts. All contributions may be mailed
