Undergraduate Studies

The School of Biological Sciences enjoys one of the largest and most successful undergraduate education programs on campus. Students can major in either Zoology or Biology, and numerous options are available so that the degree requirements are matched closely with the student's career plans. Classroom, lab, and field training provide students with excellent preparation for a broad spectrum of careers in the Life Sciences. The degree options with their associated coursework are listed below.

These programs are supported by a superb faculty who have expertise in many areas of modern biology instruction and research. Many undergraduates enjoy the opportunities to actually contribute to basic research with one of these individuals as mentor. Many major facilities are accessible to students, including the Owen Science and Engineering Library (largest in the Northwest), the Conner Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, The Ownbey Herbarium, the 800 acre Hudson Biological Reserve, and the Franceschi Microscopy and Imaging Center.
