The Equipment Loan Program at Washington State University
"This is a great program especially for small farming districts with over 50% of the population on free or reduced lunch. Thank you for all the support your program has offered us. Our students have greatly benefitted from this generous program.”
- Tamaran Underwood, teacher at Nooksack Valley High School
Washington State University has long supported quality science instruction for students of all ages through our Equipment Loan Program. Every year, almost a hundred teachers from throughout the State of Washington have used equipment available through this program.
We are grateful for the generous personal financial support from founder of the Equipment Loan Program, emeritus professor Dr. Skip Paznokas and emeritus professor Dr. Don Orlich. With the continued support of the College of Arts and Sciences, and all the schools that are helping to pay for shipping, we anticipate being able to continue this program through at least the summer of 2018.
Our Equipment Loan Program has an inventory of equipment useful for biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, physics and environmental science. To use this program, please first peruse the list of Equipment Available since this list has recently been updated. Then please use our online request form. It is recommended that you fill out the request form as early as you know what equipment you need during the school year since some items are very popular. We ask that you return the equipment in good condition and in a timely manner so that others may take advantage of this program. If you do not find an equipment you wish to use, please e-mail us so that we can put it on our list for future acquisition.
The equipment is available throughout the year on a first-come first-serve basis. For more specific information, please e-mail Steve Patton at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also contact Dr. Charlotte Omoto, Interim Director of the Equipment Loan Program at email@example.com.
We are keen to try and maintain our previous "no-cost to schools" policy. However, due to budget shortfall, we are asking users to pay for the cost of shipment. We are pursuing a number of funding opportunities to continually improve our equipment offerings and service we provide to science teachers state wide. We appreciate your letters of support and comments on the program's value to you. Please consider donating to the Skip Paznokas Endowed Fund to contribute to this program.
