Research Interests

My work explores how the evolution of form and function contributes to the accumulation and maintenance of biodiversity. I integrate biomechanical studies of live animals and big datasets from museum specimens with phylogenetic comparative models of evolution across multi-million-year scales. I am particularly interested in the processes that produce the spectacular diversity of fishes.
