The School of Biological Sciences Undergraduate Program

Advising in the School of Biological Sciences

When you become a biology or zoology major you will be assigned an academic advisor. Your advisor will help you to plan coursework, consider options for research, internships, and study abroad, and make decisions about career or professional objectives. Meet with your advisor at least once every semester to stay on track.

No question is too small for an academic advisor — they will help you navigate campus resources and put you in touch with opportunities throughout your academic career.

Who is My Advisor? Your advisor’s name and contact information is listed in your Student Center at your my.wsu account.

How Do I Make an Appointment? To make an appointment with most advisors, log in to SSC Campus and click on the blue “Get Advising” button. (If your advisor is not listed there, email him or her directly.)

Drop-In Advising Hours: please email your advisor for availability

Need to speak with an advisor but you’re not an SBS student? Stop by the main office in Abelson 301 to make an appointment or email!
