Plant Identification Services

We provide plant identification services in three categories: (1) general public, (2) state and federal agency, and (3) commercial. For the general public and state and federal agencies, these services are free – instructions are bellow. For commercial services, identification services are provided at the rate of $31.85 per hour of work and the commercial entity is responsible for mailing costs both to and from the herbarium. Create a quality pressed and dried herbarium specimen!

There are good directions online for making pressed specimens and you can see some examples:

Ship the specimen and information about where it was collected to the Washington State University Herbarium (mailing address located on the “About Us/Contact Us” page).
