The museum has 7,000 cataloged herpetology specimens. The vast majority of these specimens are preserved in ethanol, plus ~200 skeletons and a small number of tissue samples (stored at -80F). This collection comprises over 850 species across 58 families. Most of this collection is from Washington (2,000 specimens) and Oregon (2,100 specimens), though we have representatives from all over the world.
Our herpetology collection can be viewed on Arctos: Our herpetology collection at the Arctos website
